About Deborah Bowes

Deborah Bowes, PT, completed her Feldenkrais training in 1987 and was certified as a Feldenkrais Trainer in 1999. She enjoys teaching in many Feldenkrais training programs in the U.S. and other countries, training the next generation of practitioners. She has a a doctorate in physical therapy from Shenandoah University, and a B.S. in Biology and Physical Education from Rhode Island College. In addition, Bowes has worked with and studied alternative medicine (Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung, yoga, sensory awareness, meditation, and dance) for more than 30 years.
Deborah cofounded the Feldenkrais Center for Movement and Awareness with Julie Casson Rubin, in San Francisco in 1988. The center offers a full complement of classes, workshops and individualized lessons for adults. Children are seen privately. Bowes also works part time at Stanford Coordinated Care at Stanford, in Palo Alto.

She is interested in how Feldenkrais Method improves overall health and well-being in both the client and the practitioner.
